Unique Features

Construction of the Pope Building was completed in 1904. 120 years ago! Designed by architect H.G Hodgkins, the building operated as a printing house until it was converted into 91 condo units in 1986. The building maintains many of its industrial features, including a huge freight elevator and super-high barrel vaulted ceilings. Built to house heavy equipment, the concrete construction of the building is rock solid—no creaky floors or paper thin walls like with new construction.

Interior Highlights

Floor-to-ceiling windows flood light into this recently renovated, spacious, and unique one-bedroom loft apartment for rent that features an updated kitchen and bathroom, refinished hardwood floors, and tons of closet space. High ceilings and spacious rooms make this the perfect apartment for those who prefer character buildings to cookie-cutter, new construction.

Best Things About the Building

This elevator building features a brand-new industrial laundry room in the basement and trash and recycling rooms with a trash chute on every floor. The passenger elevators make getting up to the 5th floor and the laundry room painless, and the enormous freight elevator makes moving in a breeze. Our management company very well maintains the building, and complaints of any kind are always resolved quickly.

Best Things About the Neighborhood

Printers Row is one of the most charming, character-filled neighborhoods in Chicago. Nestled just outside the loop, the location is withinwalking distance of multiple train lines—perfect for those who prefer public transportation. Lake Michigan, the Art Insitute, SAIC, and Columbia College are also within walking distance. There is a boutique grocery story across the street and several incredible restaurants. Hang out at the neighborhood pub or sit in the nearby parks. Target is withinwalking distance, as is Ace Hardware. Basically, everything you could want or need is within walking distance!
